MFA THESIS
+ RESEARCH JOURNAL
As a part of my 2022-2023 MFA research at Transart Institute for Creative Research, this creative research journal was an experimental, emergent living archive and mode of communication available to my Transart peers, advisors, critics, and other invited guests.
Integral to my practice, it included:
transparent documentation of ideas, processes, and works in progress include sketches, film clips, stills, notes
minimum monthly descriptions of creative research praxis, research discoveries, and evolution of methodology
written, recorded, or aesthetic responses to advisor and cohort critiques to integrate those interactions
subjective reflections on my own emerging experience and sense of balance as artist, student, researcher, mother, community organizer, caregiver, etc.
reading diary entries for monthly weekend intensives and residency workshops
invitation for feedback on the journal via a comments section
my original research proposal and its ensuing iterations
