Alembic Artists Showcase
with In/Body

2019
Performance Works Northwest (PWNW), Portland, OR

performance / installation / residency outcome

As part of Alembic Cohort 6 at Performance Works NW, the collective In/Body (Fernanda D’Agostino, Jaleesa Johnston, and myself) participated in a year-long residency culminating in the 2020 Alembic Artists Showcase. The residency prioritized process through extended studio access, with our trio using rehearsal as a site for somatic inquiry and technological play.

Within this framework, In/Body developed a hybrid practice fusing projection installation, movement, and experimental sound to investigate ancestral memory, ritual, and the body’s ecological attunement. Our studio research and performance blurred the line between stage and life, creating immersive environments where embodied gestures became sites of memory, self-inquiry, and transformation.
